“My high school was amazing because everyone loved Disney. In math class it was a common occurrence for someone to start humming a song from one of the movies. It would spread from table to table until eventually all 25 of us were singing at the top of our lungs and banging the tables to the beat. Our teacher didn’t find it amusing, but it was definitely one of the best times of my life.”
When I tell people who know me I was up all night working they usually just “PFFF” at me knowing that work, for me, is generally drawing things like this while watching Breaking Bad.

This is a replica Geissler tube.
I don’t know what it does, but here’s an excerpt from the label at the Science Museum where I took the photos.
The two tubes here create spectacular effects of electricity in a near vacuum. Geissler not only managed to evacuate and seal off the tubes without contamination, but made use of the coloured effects of different gases, flourescent liquids and uranium glass. Unfortunately the originals are slightly radioactive because of the uranium glass so cannot be displayed.
